Purple Heart benefits (GI Bill, commissary, exchange)

A Purple Heart awarded on or after September 11, 2001, with an honorable discharge, is 100% Post-9/11 GI Bill even without 36 months. Purple Heart, former POW, Medal of Honor, any service-connected rating, retirees, and some caregivers get commissary, exchange, and listed MWR. You do not apply for store access — use a VHIC that shows PURPLE HEART (or SERVICE CONNECTED) or a VA letter plus photo ID. State plates and tuition extras are under your state. This is not a separate monthly “Purple Heart check.”

Who it is for. GI Bill 100%: Purple Heart on or after 9/11/2001 and honorable discharge. Commissary: Purple Heart, POW, MoH, any SC rating, retiree, or PCAFC caregiver — VHIC or VA letter at the gate.
